Beauty: We Need to Talk About NARS

Some of you might not be aware of this, but in a recent Instagram post, NARS have declared that they are going to be selling in China. This may seem innocent, but, in actual fact, the decision is a toxic one.

To sell in China, NARS have to test on animals as part of China’s law… And animal testing is something that will bring down their sales of products, and possibly ruin the company. With more and more people becoming educated about the detrimental affects of animal testing, there will only be more and more people willing to search for products elsewhere – therefore, NARS loses a considerable amount of customers, having a knock on affect to profts. Profits will surely decrease unless most people are attached to NARS and aren’t affected by their new policy.

That doesn’t seem to be the case if you look at the comments section on Instagram, however.

For those of you who are unaware of what an animal will look like after a series of tests, here is a picture that may solidify the idea that animal testing is a disgusting thing to do:

Most people who have commented on the post by NARS agree that by testing a product on animals, it makes the product almost toxic to use, and because of this, they won’t be buying from NARS unless the policy changes.

I know that a journalist must be bias, which is what I aspire to be, but in this case, I cannot conform to being that. My main push when writing this post was to inform you of the horrors NARS are contributing to.

Please share the message with #stopanimaltesting and #boycottnars

Let me know what you think about this damaging decision in the comments.

Thank you,
